A carbon black synthetic rubber master-batch is prepared from a synthetic rubber latex made by aqueous emulsion polymerization using a soap-type emulsifier, by bringing together an acidified aqueous carbon black dispersion and a synthetic rubber latex so as to cause coagulation, and further treating the coagulatum to give a carbon-black-synthetic rubber master batch. Specified synthetic rubbers are those from butadiene, methyl or chlorobutadiene, piperylene, 2,3-dimethyl butadiene, their mixtures and their mixtures with styrene, alpha-methyl-styrene, p-chlorostyrene, acrylic acid, methyl acrylate or methacrylate, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, methyl vinyl ether and methyl vinyl ketone. An extender oil may be present and the coagulation may take place by concurrently agitating and comminuting as described in Specification 917,327.
