An electronic rice cooker able to be controlled by a user with a telephone and a control method thereof are provided to allow a user to cook rice to be suitable taste at the most suitable time by controlling a menu corresponding to a transmitted radio frequency signal. A method for controlling an electronic rice cooker able to be controlled by a user with a telephone comprises a step for preparing to perform a rice cooking command in case of successively ringing of signal transmitted to the phone from an RF receiving adopter as the times set up, a step for blocking a ring detector(152) and opening a DTMF processing unit(156) after announcing to allow the user to input a password through voice chip(155) of the RF transmission adapter, a step for transmitting the announcement to the user to select the menu through the voice chip, a step for transmitting the RF signal to an RF receiver from the RF transmission adapter and a step for controlling the menu corresponding to the transmitted RF signal. |
