SCREENING METHOD UTILIZING NOVEL SUBSTRATE C-RET FOR GAMMA-SECRETASE

It is intended to provide a screening method for a compound that affects the processing of c-Ret by ?-secretase, comprising the steps of: (i) bringing a first biological composition containing ?-secretase or a biologically active fragment thereof in the presence and absence of a candidate compound into contact with a second biological composition containing c-Ret; (ii) measuring the cleavage of the c-Ret in the presence and absence of the candidate compound, respectively; (iii) selecting a candidate compound that affects the cleavage of the c-Ret by ?-secretase; and (iv) identifying the candidate compound obtained in the(iii) asa compound that affects the processing of c-Ret by ?-secretase.
