<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal fan having favorable operating performance and achieved in the reduction of fan noise by smoothening an air flow into a bell-mouth suction hole, and provide an air conditioner using the centrifugal fan. <P>SOLUTION: The centrifugal fan 5 is equipped with a bell mouth 6 to guide sucked air via the bell-mouth suction hole 61 to a fan suction hole 53 formed in the central part of a rotor 51. The bell mouth 6 is provided with an air flow guide 62 on the surface of the suction side to guide the sucked air into the bell-mouth suction hole 61. The air flow guide 62 is configured of rib(s), for example formed on the surface of the bell mouth 6 in such a fashion as being directed from the peripheral side in a radial direction to the bell-mouth suction hole 61 and inclined to the rotating direction of the fan 5. It is favorable for the fan 5 to be applied to a thin type air conditioner constituted so that indoor air is sucked in via a suction chamber 7 having a small dimension in the depth direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
