PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in image quality incident to spatial smoothing in noise reduction processing of a moving image. SOLUTION: The noise reducer 400 for reducing noise of a moving image includes a motion detection section 412 for detecting a motion area having a movement in the moving image and a still area other than the motion area, and a section for generating a space smoothed frame image by performing spatial smoothing of an input frame image F0 constituting the moving image. The spatial smoothing section can set a degree of spatial smoothing for every pixel constituting the input frame image F0. The degree of spatial smoothing in a pixel belonging to the still area is set higher than the degree of spatial smoothing in a pixel belonging to the motion area. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
