PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting structure of a divided side member for projecting-connecting side member rears from the side and inexpensively forming the side member rears of a plurality of lengths. SOLUTION: In this connecting structure, a side member 1 having square pipe shaped cross section is formed by outer members 7 and 8 of groove type cross section and inner members 9 and 10, the side member 1 is formed to be divided into the front and the rear in advance, a front connecting part 11 is formed on the front side of the divided part, a rear connecting part 12 is formed on the rear side, and the side member 1 is manufactured by connecting-welding the front connecting part 11 and the rear connecting part 12. The outer rear member 8 is formed by channel steel fitted into the inner front member 9. A restriction part 14 for fitting the outer rear member 8 is formed in a connecting part 13 of the outer front member 7. The inner rear member 10 is formed by channel steel smaller than the outer rear member 8. A fitting part 16 for fitting the inner rear member 10 is formed in the inner front member 9.
