PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a service life of a pitching arm in a pitching machine capable of pitching a ball by rotating the pitching arm at a high speed. SOLUTION: The pitching machine is provided with the pitching arm 10 rotating with a rotary shaft 9 having an axis 8 extending in the right and left. This pitching arm 10 has a circular-pipe pitching arm body 11 projecting radially outward from the rotary shaft 9, and a ball receiving part 13 fastened to a projection end of the pitching arm body 11 with fasteners 12 and projecting in an projection direction A of the pitching arm body 11 from the projecting end of the pitching arm body 11. The projection end of the pitching arm body 11 is press-worked by an external force C toward the radial direction to form a pair of flat bodies 28 and 28 mutually facing in the radial direction of the pitching arm body 11, the edges in the width direction D of the respective planar bodies 28 orthogonally crossing the projection direction A are mutually integrally formed and the base part of the ball receiving part 13 is fastened to the one side faces 31 of the both flat bodies 28 and 28.
