<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail order system which doubles as an ordering device and a receiving device, can be set and operated at a low cost, dispenses with disclosure of personal information, allows a distributor to safely and positively collect commodity prices, and allows a customer to positively receive an ordered commodity. <P>SOLUTION: According to the mail order system, each storage section 4 is provided with an openable door of an electronic locking type, and a control section carries out ordered commodity information control and openable door unlocking control. The ordered commodity information control includes control of transmitting customer ID information recognized by an ID recognizing section, ordered commodity information input via an input section, and payment information checked at a payment checking section, to a control device 3 via a communication line T, and control of storing the customer ID information into the storage section.
