PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking beam type conveying device capable of efficiently conveying a material by adequately eliminating any tooth-drawn state (a blank state) caused by the tooth drawing even when the material is arbitrarily drawn from a predetermined loading position of the walking beam type conveying device and fed to other manufacturing line. SOLUTION: A movable beam 11 is divided into two portions of an upstream side movable beam 11a and a downstream side movable beam 11b. When a steel strip coil C4 is drawn from the predetermined loading position (#4 position), the upstream side movable beam 11a performs the operations of "(0) waiting→(1) retraction→(2) elevation→(3) advancement→(4) lowering→(0) waiting" while the downstream side movable beam 11b performs the operations of "(0) waiting→(1) retraction→(2) stop→(3) advancement→(4) stop→(0) waiting" to eliminate the blank state thereby.
