PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rescue device of an elevator having a further simple structure, and capable of easily and certainly making a car arrive at the closest floor. SOLUTION: The rescue device of the elevator comprises a wire drum 6 coaxially and integrally rotating with a main sheave 1, an operating wire 8 wound around the wire drum 6 at one end side and extending to the car 4 at the other end side, a wind-up drum 7 winding up the other end side of the operating wire 8 and rotatably provided on the car 4, and driving force transmitting means 11, 12, 9 transmitting the rotation driving force of a rotating handle 13 operated by a passenger P in the car to the wind-up drum 7.
