PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gripping equipment worn by a person with paralyzed fingers, and more especially to provide light and compact active gripping equipment. SOLUTION: The active gripping equipment comprises a first member on which the thumb is fixed, a second member on which fingers other than the thumb are fixed, an axis 17 connecting the first member and the second member while allowing relative rotation with each other, a fixed section 6 which is fixed to the palm and is one of the first and second members, a movable section 5 which is the other of the first and second members, a first elastic member 7 which biases the movable section 5 in an opening direction with respect to the fixed section 6, and a second elastic member 8 having a larger elastic constant than the first elastic member 7 which moves the movable section 5 in a closing direction with respect to the fixed section 6 by resisting against the biasing force of the first elastic member 7, and an operating member 9 to which the second elastic member is connected.
