摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a magnesia spinel molded article simply forming a magnesia spinel molded article which has a high pore volume and high strength. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a magnesia spinel molded body comprises mixing alumina having a hydraulic property with a magnesia precursor followed by molding the mixture, holding the resulting molded body in a wet atmosphere or in water to rehydrate the molded body, and then firing the rehydrated molded body. The magnesia spinel molded body obtained in the manner as described above has a BET specific surface area of 0.1-10 m<SP>2</SP>/g, a pore volume of 0.3 cm<SP>3</SP>/g or more, and pressure resistance per cross section of 200 N/cm<SP>2</SP>or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
