PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control non-uniformity of the longitudinal size of crushed pieces of a target material. SOLUTION: In a crusher, rotary edges 38, 40, 42 and 44 of the rotor 26 are fitted with stoppers 60, 62, 64 and 66, respectively, in the forward direction of their rotation. The stoppers 60, 62, 64 and 66 have outer peripheral surfaces along their rotational trajectories of the rotary edges 38, 40, 42 and 44, respectively, and the outer peripheral surface is arranged inside the trajectory T of tip 46 of the rotary edges 38, 40, 42 and 44 in the radial direction of the rotor 26. The set value for the longitudinal size of crushed pieces of a target material M is selected to be a little shorter than the minimum distance L from the rotational trajectory T of the tip 46 of the rotary edges 38, 40, 42 and 44 to the outer peripheral surface of the stoppers 60, 62, 64 and 66, respectively.
