PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound useful for inhibiting the growth or metastasis of cancer cells by inhibiting the binding of uPA to uPAR. SOLUTION: A cyclic peptide compound is provided. In the compound, 11 amino acids are linked by a linking unit (L) so that the linear dimension between the Cαcarbon of the first amino acid and the Cαcarbon of the eleventh amino acid lies between about 4 and 12 angstrom units.
