The invention covers a method and a device for sending two data packets of a data stream. One joint data packet is generated using both packets. The joint packet is sent via a first path and one of the two data packets is sent via a second path from a source node to a destination node, whereby the two paths are disjoint paths. The invention also covers a method and a device for recovering all data packets of the data stream. One of the data packets of the data stream and the joint data packet are received. Using both the joint data packet and the received data packet allows reconstructing the other data packet of the data stream. The invention also proposes methods and devices to use two joint packets while using two data streams to be transmitted. The invention results in a secure transmission of data packets from a source to a destination node.
