PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device for displaying a destination board with suitable names displayed thereon for guiding respective directions of a fork road. SOLUTION: When a vehicle 31 approaches a fork road 22, the destination board 40A is displayed superimposed on a map 30. As a name 41a displayed by the side of a right-turn arrow on a destination board 40A, "such-and-such a town" is displayed, which is the name of a city, a town, a village, or a ward, existing in a direction in which the most vehicles run, after making a right turn at the fork road 22. As a name 41b displayed by the side of a straight-advance arrow on a destination board 40E, "Another such-and-such a town" is displayed, which is the name of a city, a town, a village, or a ward, existing, in a direction in which the most vehicles run, after making a straight advance at the fork road 22. Furthermore, as a name 41c displayed by the side of a left-turn arrow on the destination board 40E, "Another such-and-such a town" is displayed, which is the name of a city, a town, a village, or a ward, existing in a direction in which the largest number of vehicles are running, after making a left turn at the fork road 22.
