PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a vehicle causes a trouble to its peripheral vehicles by trying forcefully to cut into congestion for the purpose of changing lanes, or is obliged to advance in a direction different from scheduled one because the lanes cannot be changed, when the driver advances the vehicle to just before an intersection without knowing the generation of the right-turn congestion (left-turn congestion), in the case where the right-turn congestion (left-turn congestion) is generated over a plurality of continuous links, in the intersection for the vehicle to make a right-turn (left-turn). SOLUTION: This navigation system of the present invention is provided with: a function for determining whether the right-turn congestion or left-turn congestion is generated over the plurality of continuous links, and finds the rear end of the congestion continued over the plurality of links. The navigation system guides the lane change to make the vehicle reach the rear end of the congestion, when the congestion exists in an advancing direction of the vehicle.
