PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the uniformity of light irradiated to a reading object in an image reading apparatus using LEDs as a light source, and a light source apparatus for the image reading apparatus using the LEDs as the light source. SOLUTION: The light source apparatus for the image reading apparatus includes light emitting diodes, and an irradiation mechanism which indirectly irradiates the output light of the light emitting diodes to the reading object.
