<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, an imaging processing method and a photographing apparatus capable of providing a favorable image in which white spots and black spots are suppressed by holding the information of saturation and contrast when performing dynamic range compression. <P>SOLUTION: A level information calculation circuit 12 calculates the level information (for example, luminance information) of each pixel from R, G and B image signals in each pixel. A gain amount calculation circuit 14 calculates a gain amount (for example, 1. 5) by which the R, G and B signals of each pixel are multiplied by referring to a gain table G (Y) on the basis of the level information of each pixel calculated by the level information calculation circuit 12.
