<p>The optical sensor (10) has a receiver (40) with multiple receiving units, where the size and position of the receiving units are selected in such a manner that an image of a standard object (58) i.e. cylindrical test bar, on the receiver overlaps the receiving units. A transmitter (20) i.e. pulsed light source, is provided, where an angular misalignment between the transmitter and the receiver is selected in such a manner that a shadow impact (52) of the standard object on a monitoring surface (32) is verifiable. An independent claim is also included for a method for verifying an object in a monitoring region.</p> |
