PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data migration method for providing users with the function of data migration from an existing device at low cost when a storage device is added. SOLUTION: A business application 12 is run using a business server 1 and a first storage device 3. When the capacity of data or performance used by the business application 12 is insufficient, a second storage device 4 is added to compensate it. In this case, a management server 2 simultaneously copies the data of the existing first storage device 3 and its configuration information to the added second storage device 4, and deletes the data and its configuration information afterwards based on migration instruction information selected from a GUI screen 21, so that it is possible to migrate the necessary data and its configuration information in the existing first storage device 3 to the added second storage device 4 without making the user aware of the details of the configuration information of a logical device in the storage device.
