PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to safely and simply perform the maintenance of a device in a facility having a frame installed between conveying chains, the device being arranged under the frame. SOLUTION: The facility 100 is equipped with a conveyor 10 having the conveying chains 12 and 14 arranged in two rows, the frame 26 arranged between the conveying chains 12 and 14, and the device 40 arranged under the frame 26. The procedures of this method of maintenance comprise; transporting by the conveyor 10 an operation assisting machine 50 having an elevator unit 58 and formed transportable by the conveyor to the first position A where the frame 26 is installed, lifting the frame 26 by the elevator unit 58 of the operation assisting machine 50, transporting the assisting machine 50 by the conveyor 10 to a second position B different from the first position A, performing maintenance of the device 40 using an opening formed by movement of the frame 26, transporting the assisting machine 50 by the conveyor 10 from the second position B to the first position A, and descending the frame 26 to the initial position by the elevator unit 58 of the assisting machine 50.
