<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide white light formed by sufficiently mixing colors, in relation to a lighting system having a plurality of light sources arranged on a side surface of a light guide body, and a liquid crystal display device equipped with it. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting system is provided with the light guide body 14 diffusing and guiding light entering from an entrance plane, and a plurality of light emitting diodes 16R, 16G and 16B arranged in an arrangement direction along the entrance plane 14a of the light guide body 14.
