PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and more certainly update a program without requiring work for updating the program of a user, in a navigation device. SOLUTION: The navigation device receives an update program (a new program) wirelessly transmitted from a program transmission device (a base station) to update the program. The update program is transmitted to a large number of the navigation devices at one time without individually specifying the large number of the navigation devices. The update program is repeatedly transmitted in program block 60 units wherein the update program is divided into a plurality of blocks. The navigation device stores the received program block 60 into a program memory 15 when receiving the program block 60, and completes the update of the program when finishing storing all the program blocks 60 constituting the update program into the program memory 15.
