PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring device capable of efficiently mixing, stirring, diffusing and dissolving various mixed systems such as a solid/liquid system and a liquid/liquid system, for example, capable of uniformly diffusing even hard inorganic substance particles of heavy specific gravity into liquid, applying composite plating of the hard inorganic substance particles in a single stage without using a complicated stirring device, and further capable of mixing a pigment with a solvent and dissolving without involving air. SOLUTION: The stirring device A1 has a stirring tank 1 provided with a stirring part 12 equipped with a propeller type stirrer 2 and a main tank part 11, and the stirring part 12 and main tank part 11 are partitioned by a partition wall 3 disposed to allow the liquid in the tank to vertically flow therebetween. A bottom 4 of the stirring tank 1 has ship's bottom-like structure, which is composed to rise up from the disposed position of the partition wall 3 or from the position corresponding to its vicinity toward mutually opposing wall faces of the stirring part 12 and main tank part 11.
