PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce time and effort required for a user to output a plurality of sheets of image data and further reduce waste of output of image data.
SOLUTION: A printer detects a face area of image data (S100). As the state of this face area, the printer then detects the size Sn and focusing degree FC of the face area (S140, 180). If two or more face areas are detected, the face area the size Sz of which is equal to or below a threshold Sref set by a specific proportion (e.g., 20%) of the size of the maximum face area and the face area the focusing degree FC of which is equal to or lower than a threshold FCref determined, through experiences, as a value that is not suitable for printing are subtracted from the total number FN of the face areas and thereby the number P of prints is set (S170 to S230). Then, images for the set number P of prints are printed out (S260). Since the number of prints to be output is set based on the detected number of face areas, a user does not have to set the number of prints. In addition, the output of prints including face areas that are not suitable for printing can be omitted.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
