PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide structure having an optical waveguide that has a wide degree of design freedom of pattern shape and can be formed with core portions (optical paths) of high dimensional accuracy by a simple method. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide structure 9 has the optical waveguide 90 having a core layer 93 comprising the core portions 94 and clad portions 95 lower in refractive index than the core portions 94, and conductive layers provided on both sides of the optical waveguide 90. The core portion 94 comprises a first norbornene-based material as a main material, and the clad portion 95 comprises a second norbornene-based material lower in refractive index than the first norbornene-based material, as a main material. Both of the first norbornene-based material and the second norbornene-based material contain the same norbornene-based polymer, and it is preferable that their refractive indexes are different by making different the content of a reactant of a norbornene-based monomer having a refractive index different from that of the norbornene-based polymer.
