The component has an interface to a data bus system (4). Optical reading devices (5, 18) read a coded alpha numeric identification or barcode included in external laminar data carriers (6, 15) e.g. paper strip, via which the component is identifiable in an electrical and/or electronic network (1), where the carrier is brought to the reading device from outside. Retaining devices retain the data carries in a retaining position, where the identification or barcode in the data carrier is readable by the reading device in the retaining position of the data carriers.
