The process involves providing a container (22) to contain wooden logs (37) and to selectively release the logs. A receiving chassis (1) containing the container is provided on a warehousing location. The container is filled with the logs in parallel stacks and transported to the location and introduced in the chassis. The logs are released and the container is removed from the chassis so that the logs remain stored in the chassis. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a process of distributing and warehousing firewood.
