APPARATUS AND METHOD RECONFIGURABLE DISCRIPTOR IN SYSTEM ON CHIP

A descriptor apparatus and a method thereof are provided to improve flexibility of the hardware by changing a software algorithm and reusing a descriptor in case of changing data construct as data is read out by using the descriptor performing redefinition by a user and is processed according to the order defined by the user. A central processing unit provides parameters defining a descriptor to a controller(320). The controller(300) reads out object data which inputted parameters name and defines the descriptor. The descriptor configuration register(302) in which parameters defining the descriptor are input from the central processing unit is formed. The descriptor(304) stores object data read out with the controller. A feature expansion entry(306) maps and stores each inputted parameter the entry of each function in which performance is requested from the central processing unit. A scheduler(308) schedules that each function is performed according to the order defined by the central processing unit or the user in advance in the performing function.
