A method of removing nitrogen oxide using a biofilter is provided to obtain high removal efficiency of nitrogen oxides at superficial residence time shorter than that of a conventional biofilter and to remove effectively nitric oxide included in gas generated in painting shop, food manufacturing factory, generating station and iron mill etc. A method of removing nitrogen oxide using a culture method of the nitrifying organism and a biofilter comprises steps of: culturing microorganism converting nitrite and nitrous acid into nitrate using under acidic condition of the pH 2~ 5.5; separating it from a cultivation source and vaccinating it to a reactor of a biofilter; and removing the nitric oxide under acidic condition of pH 2~ 5.5 using it.
