A CAN bus diagnostic system using a TDR(Time-Domain Reflectometry) and a method thereof are provided to obtain location and amplitude information including disconnection, short circuit, a branch, and an impedance change in a circuit and to confirm an abnormal state of a CAN bus by measuring a reflective wave by using a pulse generator and a reflective wave measurement unit installed at an input terminal of the CAN bus. A pulse generator(21) is connected to one of both ends of a CAN bus(11a,11b) in order to generate and apply a pulse to the CAN bus. A reflective wave measurement unit(22) measures a reflective wave returning to an input terminal. A micom(25) determined an abnormal state of the CAN bus by comparing a waveform of the reflective wave measured in the reflective wave measurement unit with a waveform of a stored standard reflective wave. A memory(26) stores the waveform of the standard reflective wave measured through CAN bus information according to kinds of vehicles. A display(27) displays the reflective wave measured by a control of the micom and the abnormal state of the CAN bus. |
