RUBBER COMPOSITION AND RUN FLAT TIRE USING THE SAME

A rubber composition for side reinforcement of a run flat tire is provided to ensure low heat generation and high strength and to improve the durability in puncture when it is applied to the side part of the run flat tire. A rubber composition is provided by blending a rubber component 100 parts by mass, carbon black 10-80 parts by mass and/or C5-based petroleum resin 0.5-10 parts by mass. The rubber component comprises a styrene butadiene rubber 20-80 mass %, containing 1,2- syndiotactic polybutadiene crystals5-60 mass % and a natural rubber and/or polyisoprene rubber 10-80 mass %.
