A mobile terminal and a method for photographing an image in the mobile terminal are provided to photograph an image in a desired way without a mirror configured near a camera. A controller makes a camera menu keep a displayed state(S301), and a user selects a menu for setting up an image composition value from an input unit(S302). The controller display the image composition values stored at a memory on a display unit(S303). The user selects one of image composition values, which are displayed on the display unit, through the input unit(S304), and the controller displays a screen point of the selected image composition value(S305). The controller stores the selected image composition value and an alarming method at the memory(S306).
