A method and a device for inputting Hangul with improved vowel input convenience are provided to reduce the number of strokes for inputting a vowel and improve vowel input speed by reducing consonant collision occurring when consonants are inputted input frequency. A user input unit(410) receives one consonant selected by a user through a touch screen. A control unit(420) displays basic vowels around the received consonant, and determines continuous dragging count/direction from the consonant to one of the basic vowel for a predetermined time on the user input unit. A vowel database(430) stores the basic vowels, and additional or diphthong vowels derived from the basic vowels. A vowel composer(440) composes the basic vowel, the additional vowel, and the diphthong according to the dragging count and direction. A syllable former(460) forms a syllable by combining the selected consonant and the composed vowel. A display unit(470) displays the basic vowels around the selected consonant. |
