A self-assembly floor comprising: a flooring support structure and a plurality of flooring units capable of overlying the flooring support structure, the flooring units and the structure each, prior to assembly, being provided with complementary engaging members adapted to engage the flooring units to the structure and wherein such engagement occurs below the top of the structure, and wherein the inter-relationship between one type of engaging member and that part of the self assembly floor that it forms part of is such that the one is able to move relative to the other.
