PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision and effect of flicker detection. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus having image sensors includes: evaluation value generation parts (601 and 801) which divide an image signal into a plurality of regions in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction and generate evaluation values representing image signal levels per region; evaluation value selection parts (602 and 802) which select the evaluation values and decide reliability on the basis of preliminarily set criteria; flicker detection parts (603 and 803) which extract change information of illumination intensity in a vertical direction within a unit frame or a field surface on the basis of selected evaluation values; flicker correction value generation parts (604 and 804) which generate a correction value for flicker correction of the image signal on the basis of the detected change information of illuminance intensity; and flicker correction parts (606 and 805) which perform flicker correction on the basis of the flicker correction value.
