PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an inductor which can prevent a castable refractory from causing a crack in an air-drying stage thereof in a process of manufacturing the inductor. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the inductor 10 which is installed on the side part of a molten metal plating tank 14 and has an induction heating coil part 17 that heats a molten metal passage way 16 constituted by the castable refractory 15 and a molten metal 12 in the molten metal passage way 16 comprises the steps of: attaching a heat-resistant buffer material 20a to an external surface of a bushing 19 which is placed in a casing 18 of the inductor 10 and accommodates a part of the induction heating coil part 17; arranging a core 21 having a buffer material 22 attached to its external surface in the casing 18 to form a mold; pouring the castable refractory 15 which is in a flowable state; and deforming the heat-resistant buffer material 20a and the buffer material 22 so that the materials follow the retraction of the castable refractory 15 occurring in the air-drying stage to prevent the castable refractory 15 from causing retraction distortion.
