PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial flow fan having high strength of a boss part, for providing the high air volume while restraining consumption horsepower, by improving a flow of an air current in front of the fan. SOLUTION: This axial flow fan has a plurality of fan blades 2 radially extending on an outer peripheral surface of the boss part 1 and a guide vane radially arranged on a front face of the boss part, and is formed as a structure that the guide vane enters all the way along the blades into a reverse surface of the blades from the front edge in the vicinity of a root part of the fan blades, and its tip part is extended by a smooth curved surface up to a substantially intermediate part of the blade rear edge, and an extension part is also formed so as to cover a boss part outer peripheral surface by extending in the axial direction toward the leeward side along the outer peripheral surface of the boss part.
