PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device having improved detection accuracy of laser beam light which scans a photo conductor, etc. by a low-cost simple mechanism. SOLUTION: The image formation device is characterized by having an LD unit 4a including a laser diode 4 which emits the laser beam light, a polygonal mirror part 8 which reflects the laser beam light so as to use it as scanning light to scan the photo conductor 12, a detection part 1 which detects the scanning light at one point on a light path of the scanning light, and a position setting reflection plate 2 which reflects the scanning light on a light path, which is different from the above described light path, and causes the scanning light to enter the detection part 1.
