PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving method ensuring visibility of text information of emergency broadcast, and also to provide a broadcast receiving system, a personal computer and a broadcast receiver.

SOLUTION: This broadcast receiving method has a configuration in which a tuner module for receiving digital mode broadcast is externally mounted on an image display device, and if emergency broadcast occurs during digital broadcast reception in one-segment broadcast, the emergency broadcast is detected, and the reception is switched to reception of multi-segment broadcast or switched to a magnified display of only text information included in the emergency broadcast.
