PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphous carbon composite having improved dispersibility of nanoparticles, and its production method. SOLUTION: The production method for the amorphous carbon composite comprises: a gelation process of preparing a gelatinous compound having plural nanoparticles dispersed therein, from a dispersion containing an organic compound and a plurality of nonoparticles each having a functional group on the surface thereof; and a heating process of heating the gelatinous compound, to solidify the compound in the state wherein the plural nanoparticles are dispersed.
