PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably collect and accumulate paper sheets by restraining a failure such as paper clogging, in a paper sheet storing apparatus for collecting multiple different types of paper sheets in different sizes. SOLUTION: This paper sheet storing apparatus for collecting multiple different types of paper sheets in different sizes comprises a collecting box having a feeder provided on a side wall thereof for externally feeding paper sheets and for accumulating and collecting the paper sheets therein, and a stack guide member configured to introduce the paper sheets, when fed by the feeder into the collecting box, downward in the collecting box and to press down a surface of an uppermost paper sheet located on a top of the accumulated paper sheets. The stack guide member has a shape to enable the surface of the uppermost paper sheet to be pressed downward in a vertical direction, with regard to all the multiple different types of paper sheets.
