PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal which speedily performs data communication through radio LAN connection when the portable communication terminal enters a radio LAN connectable area, without attempting radio LAN communication at all the time. SOLUTION: A portable telephone 100 that is a portable communication terminal comprising a radio LAN communication function stores area information, in an area information storage section 120, for specifying a geographical range estimated to be communicable with an access point of a radio LAN. A location of the portable telephone 100 is detected by a location detecting section 110, it is judged by an area judging section 131 on the basis of the location and the area information whether or not the portable telephone 100 is located within the geographical range estimated communicable with an access point.
