PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fryer capable of saving energy by reducing the heat radiating quantity of oil in a standby state. SOLUTION: The heat radiation of the oil can be suppressed by closing the top face of an oil tank 3 with a slide cover 20 when heating cooking is not carried out by arranging the slide cover 20 slidable between a storing position where the slide cover opens the top face of the oil tank 3 and is housed in the lateral face side of the housing 2 and a shutting position where the slide cover closes the top face of the oil tank 3 in the housing 2.
