摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a spherical silica-based mesoporous body having a bimodal pore structure which is capable of producing the spherical silica-based mesoporous body having the bimodal pore structure including a first meso pore having sufficiently uniform pore diameter and a second meso pore having sufficiently uniform pore diameter different in size from the first meso pore. SOLUTION: The method for producing a spherical silica-based mesoporous body comprises a first step in which a silica raw material, a surfactant and an alkylamine are mixed in a solvent to obtain porous precursor particles that the surfactant and the alkylamine are introduced into the silica raw material, and a second step in which the surfactant and the alkylamine comprised in the porous precursor particles are removed to obtain the spherical silica-based mesoporous body having the bimodal pore structure.
