PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stapler which can pinch a crown portion of a staple to uniformly draw right and left legs of the staple by specially designing the shape of a body cover that covers an upper side of a remover portion, to thereby improve the staple removing efficiency. SOLUTION: The stapler is formed of: a magazine for storing staples therein; a driver arm having a driver for driving the staples stored in the magazine toward sheets to be bound; a clincher arm 5 having a clincher mechanism for bending the legs of each staple driven by the driver; and an arm cover 15 covering a predetermined area of the arm 5. The arm 5 has the remover portion 5h extending from the arm 5 and usable for removing operation of the staple driven into the bound sheets, and the cover 15 has a tongue piece 15c extending from the same to cover the upper side of the remover portion 5h. Then a wire of the staple driven into the bound sheets is insertable between an upper surface of the remover portion 5h and the tongue piece 15c. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
