PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold assembly for injection compression molding whose cavity for molding a tabular molded article is formed of a fixed mold, a main body part of a movable mold, and an exterior wall member surrounding the outer periphery of the main body part and moving in the mold opening and closing direction, and which prevents the molded article from dropping when the exterior wall member retreats in order to take out the molded article. SOLUTION: A sprue hole 15 where a sprue is formed is provided to the fixed mold 10 at a part coming into contact with the exterior wall member 31, a sprue lock hole 34 and a runner groove for the sprue hole 15 are provided to a contact surface of the exterior wall member facing the fixed mold, and the bottom face of the sprue lock hole is formed by the end face of a support pin 27 which penetrates the exterior wall member to be fixed to the main body part 21. When the exterior wall part retreats and the side face of the molded article 106 is released, the sprue lock and the runner are released from the exterior wall member, whereas the sprue lock remains in the state being fitted to the sprue lock hole and coming into contact with the end face of the support pin to prevent the molded article from dropping.
