PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bead forming apparatus for winding a wire around a mandrel without rotating the mandrel to form a bead. SOLUTION: The bead forming apparatus is equipped with a rack 7, a press roll 8 and a guide ring 10. The rack 7 holds the wire 6 preliminarily cut into predetermined length and a press roll 8 presses the wire 6 to an unvulcanized rubber molded body 5. The guide ring 10 guides the press roll 8 in the peripheral direction of the unvulcanized rubber molded article 5. The wire 6 is pressed by the press roll 8 to the outer surface of the unvulcanized rubber molded body 5 to be wound around the unvulcanized rubber molded article, while being drawn out of the rack 7, to form the bead 4.
