PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide resin with less coloring and suitable for optical materials. SOLUTION: The polyimide resin with colored amount N of 100 or less is obtained by polymerization of bis(trimellitic acid monoester anhydrides) and diamines with essential components of benzidines, and further polymerization with acid dianhydride component containing fluoromethyl acid dianhydrides.
